It's That Time

It's that time of year again where we rarely see my husband, Yes its harvest time! With all the crazy weather that we've had this year things are a little behind schedule so it seems that harvest will be short but extremely busy! All the vineyards are ready at the same time so my poor husband will be driving all over to be sure that harvest is going on without any complications! As for our poor daughter she doesn't understand why her daddy is not home when she is going to bed. Poor thing, she asked yesterday morning if daddy was coming home today! She was lucky and got to spend some time with daddy last night before heading to bed but it is still not the same to her! I try to make sure that I spoil him with all kinds of yummy treats and great meals. I made him a peach Kretchen that he loves and that seem to hit the spot for him. I'm still not sure what mouth watering dinner I will make tonight, but as long as the hubby has a good meal ready for him when he gets home he's happy which means everyone else is happy too! Happy Grape Harvest everyone, just think in about a month we'll be busy with rice harvest, hopefully!!

Friday!!!!

I am so excited that its FRIDAY!!! I have made it through the first week of school, and our first week in our new home. It seems as if every evening we have been busy cleaning, putting things away, and still trying to find a little time to relax before bed. I am looking forward to this weekend. No big plans, just catching up on some much needed chores. If all goes well we should have our old house cleaned out and ready for our new renters. We are looking forward to using our new BBQ and enjoying a yummy home cooked dinner! Yes, that's right we have a new beautiful BBQ, it was a great surprise; a wonderful house warming gift from my parents. Hope you have a great Friday and a relaxing weekend with your family!

Summer Ends!

As many of you are excited to ship your kids back to school and now have a much needed break, I am ready to embrace all those kids for a great school year! It seems as if summer flew by, I feel as if it were just yesterday that I was packing up my classroom to prepare for summer break! Our summer was mainly hard work but well worth it. Yes, we finally moved into our new house. Of course nothing like cutting it short, we moved in on Saturday and I had to head back to work on Monday. Let me tell you sitting in all day teacher's meetings on Monday was not a good thing for my aching body! Its amazing how badly your body can hurt just from moving boxes. OK so it was more like hundreds of boxes!

As for the school year I am ready to go, students returned yesterday and they all seem great. Oh yeah its only the first day give it time!!! No really my 5th and 6th graders seem pretty good! I am looking forward to a wonderful adventure with a great group of kids. Hope you have a great day as I know I will.

Work & No Play!

It has been forever since I blogged and I have missed so much! We have been full speed ahead trying to complete all the remodel projects on our new home. Things are going well but the hours of work have been endless! All rooms have been painted in the house, except for the laundry room. Yesterday we completed the installation of the new and beautiful baseboards throughout the house, and today its time to begin the crown molding. I am so ready to move in, well not for the packing and unpacking part but the part of living and enjoying our new beautiful home. I will soon post pictures so all of you can see what has been keeping me away from my blog. Until then have a great day as I get ready to get my hammer on!

Yummy Finds!

Every Monday our small little community comes together for Farmer's Market in the Park, it's great! Last Monday we all walked down to the park to enjoy the great weather and the yummy treats. It was so nice; we were able to enjoy an unusually cool evening breeze, chat with friends, and pick from lots of fresh, yummy produce. My daughter of course loved the swings, and shaved ice best, what can I say she is only 3! We are very excited to head back tonight to look for more yummy finds! Have a great Monday!
