Two Pea's in a Pod

My daughter and I set out last Saturday for a morning of exercise and fun! I have set a goal for myself to run a half marathon and possibly within a year a full marathon. No I am not crazy but I love to work out and sharing that time with my family makes the workout even better! I had signed up for a 5k and Ava was ready for her first "Kids Challenge" event. I was so proud of her she did great! Let me remind you she is only 2 1/2 and full of ENERGY! She giggled next to many other little tykes as they drew the starting line in the dirt. Ready, Set, GO!!! She was off running her little heart out, full of smiles, and laughter! Once she reached the finish line she kept going!! She was too cute! Awards Ceremonies followed; she was adorable accepting her ribbon. I was so proud of her and she too was very proud of her accomplishment. Next, we moved right along to what Ava called the "Mommy Challenge". We had a great run and Ava sat patiently in her jogger as we jogged the streets of a rural community. The air was crisp and quite, just perfect for an Ava & mommy day!

Ready, Set, GO!!! They're off!!

That's my girl, running her heart out!

Receiving her award!

Beaming with pride and righfully so!

Ava relaxing and ready for the "Mommy Challenge" 5K!

Our Little Princess

Yes, it is the simple things that make use the most happy. I love waking up to the smell of fresh air, the birds signing, and beauty that life brings us all. Most of all I love waking up to my princess. Being a mom is full time job but a job that I would never trade for anything however, I too am a full time working mom. The weekends are what our family likes to call "Mommy & Daddy Days". It is these that I long for throughout the work week. A few Saturday's ago I was spending time with my little Ava and to no surprise she walked in and said, "Mommy now I am really your little princess." With a smile I replied, "Yes sweetie you are mommy's princess today and every day." These are the simple moments that we treasure the most! Our life is not measured by the breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away!

About Me

About Me
I have grown up in a small rural community all my life. I thought I was destined to be a city girl and made the move to the big city to attend college. I soon found that I loved to visit the city however; my heart was meant to be in the country life. After completing college I soon returned to the life I discovered I loved so much. I started my career in teaching and later married a man who I not only fell in love with but loved spending time with. We have a beautiful little girl who is the light of our lives. We enjoy our family time at the ranch helping to prepare for the year’s harvest, or working in our yard making it our outdoor home. As for now we are working on moving into my Grandfather home in the country. We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful family that supports us in all our endeavors. We are looking forward to moving to a ranch home where we can spread our wings; get our feet dirty and enjoying raising our family in a country environment.
