It's Back to School!

Well, its official my summer vacation is over and its back to reality, work! I do consider myself very lucky that I have such a wonderful and rewarding job, it does make going back much easier! I am very excited to meet all my new students, I love the first day of school photo's, new outfits, and all the fun that a new year brings!

I'm however sad to see my days at home with my little peanut come to an end. This has been one of the best summers at home with her. She is at such a fun age and I love our special time together. Today is a big day for her as well she will be going to her new school for a meet and greet, luckily I have such a wonderful mother who will be taking her. I can't believe my little baby will be starting PK on Wednesday, time has flown by! She will always be my little peanut!

So as you can see today will be a lot of fun first's for our family, stay tuned for a recap of today's events!

Just a little something & maybe an etsy shop soon!

I've been having so much fun making all kinds of hair accessories. I just started selling a few at a local salon and I'm thinking about selling my hair flairs and some of my crafts through etsy. This however, totally scares me, what if I don't sale anything. I love the blog by Little Miss Momma about the sleepless nights that she went through when deciding to start her own little etsy shop. I found a little time this weekend to make a few hair bows for the princess! I can't wait for the school year to be over, only 8 more days and then I will be able to work on my list of projects. I feel as if I haven't had time to craft or blog much and I am more than ready to get back into it! So for today here are is a little peek at what I made over the weekend!

Fudge Brownie Surprise~ Cupcake Carnival

If you love cupcakes then you are at the right spot these cupcakes are delicious! With the yummy mini candy bars baked inside each little cupcake it's hard to stop at just one!

What You Need:

1 21-oz. pkg. fudge brownie mix
15 miniature-size chocolate-coated caramel-topped nougat bars with peanuts, or 15 dark chocolate-covered mint creams
Canned vanilla frosting
Cherries


Make It:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line fifteen 2-1/2-inch muffin cups with paper bake cups. Prepare the fudge brownie mix according to package directions. Spoon 1 tablespoon of the batter into each paper bake cup. Place a miniature-size candy bar or mint cream in each cup. Divide the remaining batter among the cups.

2. Bake in the preheated oven for 22 minutes. Let cool in pans on a wire rack. Cupcakes may dip slightly in center. Frost with vanilla frosting and, if desired, sprinkle with decorative candies or cherries.

Makes 15 cupcakes.

These are definitely a hit at our house and I'm sure they will be at yours as well!

My Blooming Wheelbarrow!

The weather was wonderful this weekend and of course I made sure I was outside enjoying it!! I didn't get a lot of crafting done inside but I did get the chance to complete a few out door projects.

As you can see we have a huge tree in our front yard and since moving into our new house last August we are just getting to work on the outside. I wanted something cute to go in front of this tree. I found an old red wheelbarrow and filled it with flowers. Next, I plan to paint our address on the front.

Just a little something

This weekend was wonderful!! I had hoped I would've accomplished more as far a crafts but I did get a lot of other things done. I have been reading Organize Now! by Jennifer Ford Berry. This is a great book and it has given me great tips to help organize my life. I have always thought of myself as being very organized but this book has made me realize that I can be much more organized. I did spend the weekend reading and working on organizing which made me just as happy as crafting!!

I know I am crazy!! I did take a little time to make this necklace that I just love!! It is very simple and adds a pop of color to my outfit!

Vintage Cuff

I have fell in love with making these cute, easy, and inexpensive cuffs. It's amazing how quickly you can have an accessory that makes a huge impact on your outfit!

You will need the following materials:
Toilet Paper roll
Hot Glue gun
Fabric
Embellishments
Ribbon




How to make it:
1. start by cutting a toilet paper roll in half length wise.

2. Next, cut the roll to the desired width that you would like your cuff to be.

3. Cut your fabric so that it covers the toilet paper roll. If you want you can add fray check so edges of your fabric won't fray otherwise you can leave it.

4. Hot glue the fabric to the toilet paper roll.

5. Hot glue two pieces of ribbon to each end of the cuff. This will be how you tie your cuff on to your wrist.

6. Finally add embellishments of your choice to the cuff. I used white lace, a few mini pearls, and a decorative button.

** All this was done with no sewing involved and I love it.

Happy Crafting!!

Headband holder

This weekend was great! I was able to get so much accomplished it was scary! One of the many things that I accomplished was making this great headband holder. I found this somewhere out in blog land and finally had some time to make one of my own.





Materials you will need for this project:

* Oatmeal Container
* Hot glue gun
* Modge Podge
* Scrap booking paper
* Ribbon
* Embellishments

How to make it:

1. Start by finding the scrap booking paper of your choice. I choose something that would look good in my newly, not yet finished Beach themed bathroom.

2. Carefully measure your paper so that it will cover your container completely, then cut as needed.

3. Using your Modge Podge carefully cover the entire container with Modge Podge. Next, start applying the paper to your container. Be sure to place paper carefully on the container watching for any wrinkles or bubbles in your paper.

4. Once your paper is completely on the container cover the paper with a layer of Modge Podge. This will make the paper extra secure and give it a nice shine.

5. With the ribbon of your choice wrap it around the top and bottom of your container. Apply a small dot of hot glue to the start and end of your ribbon. This is enough to hold it securely in place.

6. Cut a circle from your scrap booking paper to cover the lid of your oatmeal container. Modge Podge this on as well just as you did in steps 3 & 4 above.

7. Add your own embellishments and special touches to make it yours! I choose to use the ribbon to make a bow and added a few pearls to jazz it up!




There you go a great way to store your headbands and it cost me under $2.00. I had all the supplies on had, I just purchased the scrap booking paper to match.
